Melissa McBride Remembers Giving a Zombie a C-section

October 10, 2017

Carol has killed her fair share of zombies over seven seasons of The Walking Dead, but if you ask the woman who plays her, Melissa McBride, about them all, there is one that stands out.

“It’s hard to pick just one favorite walker kill in these first 100 episodes, ’cause by now she’s had quite a few,” says McBride. “One of the more memorable ones, however, was when Carol was practicing the C-section and had to take down the female walker at the prison gate.”

It wasn’t the walker itself that was so special, but rather the circumstances surrounding it. “There was just something really moving and sweet about the walker that Carol had to put down,” McBride says. “Why she was doing it, how gently she approached it, how thoughtful she was of the whole situation. I think that’s really one of the more memorable ones.”

There’s another reason why McBride holds that scene so dear. “That’s so memorable because that was one of the first scenes I had with Steven [Yeun] — quite possibly the only scene I had with Steven.”

Did Melissa McBride Just Tease a Carol Pregnancy?!

October 09, 2017

Carol has changed a lot over her seven years on The Walking Dead, but her biggest adjustment could still be on the way. During the Walking Dead panel at New York Comic Con, Melissa McBride seemed to tease a bun in the oven for Carol this season.

While on stage for the panel, McBride was asked about Carol’s changes heading into this season, since she took a bit of a violent turn last year. She was asked if Carol was “trading in the cookies for body armor.”

“Yes,” McBride said emphatically. “Yes! Thank god! Yes! But that doesn’t mean she’s not gonna be baking something!”

That might sounds kind of innocent, but the suspicion comes from the way McBride said it. She got very mysterious when saying the words, “baking something.”

Remember, Carol had a child back in the first and second seasons of the show. Unfortuantely, her daughter was turned into a walker while they were staying at Hershel’s and the group had to put her down. Going through another pregnancy would really put Carol in a strange place.

The story would make sense though, as Carol and Ezekiel have seemed to be getting closer. Both lost the child in their life, and they could be looking to create new life together in The Kingdom.

It’s also worth noting that Carol is in uncharted territory. In the comics, the character was killed all the way back during the prison days.

“The Walking Dead” Season 8 Spoilers: Melissa Reveals Carol is Armed and “Blowing Things Up”

September 19, 2017

The Walking Dead Season 8 spoilers tease that Carol Peletier is going to be back to her old self. In fact, Melissa McBride revealed that she is armed, ready to fight, and will be blowing things up. Find out what the actress had to say about her character in the upcoming season.

TWD spoilers are ahead. Do not continue reading unless you want to know what to expect when the AMC series returns next month.

Carol Peletier has gone through quite the evolution. She is a fan-favorite character, but viewers were worried about her last season. However, the Carol everyone knows and loves will be back in The Walking Dead Season 8. Spoilers reveal that she will return to doing what she does best – blowing things up.

Melissa McBride spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what to expect from her character. Carol feels a “call to duty” in fighting Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors. There will still be a battle going on in her mind. Even though she is doing what is necessary to protect her family, that mental war will continue.

“She laid it out for Daryl [Norman Reedus] when he came to her cottage that she’s running a risk of losing herself in the fight, but it’s worth it to her. And I think we’ll see she’s going to fight the conflict in her mind, it’s going to be alive there too.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, there just won’t be physical battle scars. There will also be mental ones. Carol’s psychological turmoil is likely just one example of that.
